Which vehicles are affected
Decisive are new vehicles registered abroad for no longer than 6 months, as well as vehicles between 6 and 12 months old with less than 5,000 km. What matters is the date of first registration compared with the Swiss customs stamp on form 13.20 A.
How the levy is calculated
The amount of the CO₂ levy depends on the vehicle's CO₂ emissions and the current Swiss target values. With the import calculator you can determine the expected levy upfront in CHF.
